Jesús Knows the Impact of Stigma

After being expelled from high school, Jesús felt alone, unworthy, and ashamed about being a person with a substance use disorder.

People in his life judged him, and he judged himself, too. The day he met his sponsor, his story took a new direction. With support and connection Jesús moved forward with effort and determination that continues in his life today as an automotive technician and as a sponsor for other people with substance use disorder. “Today I’m grateful to be of service and just to have this opportunity to spread the message.”
