Rickey Follows his Dreams

Rickey (Dolla Green) is a small business owner using music to share his story of recovery.

Rickey went from Volunteers of America to being a full-time student to climbing the ladder at work. Today, he’s doing the best he ever has. “My job is to use my platform, my position, to make a difference for everybody coming behind me,” Rickey says. “With music, I get to use my dream to have an impact on society’s view of the stigma, of us. I get to give hope to people who have been there.”

Every day, people like Rickey, in active recovery from substance use disorder, are using their voice, being a friend, and getting the chance to follow their dreams.
